>>Narrator (female voice over): How to care for the eyes. In this video you will be shown how to clean a person’s eyes using a step-by-step process. Get the things you need :

  • Clean water
  • A towel
  • The tip sheet
  • Cotton pads or a clean washcloth
  • A rubbish bag

  • Clean water
  • Towel
  • Tip sheet
  • Cotton pads / washcloth
  • Rubbish bag

>>Narrator (female voice over): Wash your hands

[Text on screen] 2.Wash your hands.

>>Narrator (female voice over): Wet the cotton pad or washcloth with some clean water.

[Text on screen] 3.Wet the cotton pad / washcloth.

>>Narrator (female voice over): Wipe gently from the inside of the person’s eye to the outside of the eye.

[Text on screen] 4. Wipe gently from inside to outside of eye.

>>Narrator (female voice over): Repeat this step with both eyes until they are clean. To avoid infection, use a clean cotton pad or section of the washcloth for each wipe.

[Text on screen] 5. Repeat until eyes are clean. Use a clean pad/washcloth for each wipe.

>>Narrator (female voice over): Put the used cotton pads in the rubbish bag.

>>Narrator (female voice over): If there is dry mucous around the entrance to the nose, use a wet tip to remove it. Make sure you don’t push the cotton tip too far up the nose.
